We are excited to inform our Gujarati community of Chicago that legend of Gujarati literature and our very own Adam Saheb Tankarvi will be visiting Chicago in coming weeks. Beautiful evening in Tankaria…
A Science fair was held today at Tankaria Kumar Shala (Boys School). Children were given opportunity to display their science projects and opportunity to learn about other students’ work. Teachers also appreciated every child’s energy and enthusiasm.
Recent spikes in oil (petrol/ diesel) and cooking gas prices led to opposition parties in INDIA called for “Bharat Bandh” across nation, the impact of which was felt across Tankaria as well. See pictures below.

Tankaria’s root to India’s freedom goes long back. We, Tankarvis, all have a story or two about how great great grandfather took part in India’s independence movement, the struggle they witnessed and sacrifices they made. However, lot of us does not know is how deep is Tankaria’s Root to founding fathers of national. Find below a letter from Mahatma Gandhi “Bapu” to our Nathaliya Seth. Mahatma Gandhi spent his youth in S Africa and it’s Widely accepted that his struggle and his interactions with people there made huge impact and shaped his vision for independent INDIA.
