ટંકારીઆના વતનપ્રેમી અને યુકેના પ્રથમ ભરૂચી વહોરા સાંસદ ઈકબાલહુસૈનનો ભવ્ય સત્કાર સમારંભ યોજાયો

યુનાઇટેડ કિંગડમ (યુ.કે.)ની સંસદમાં સ્વતંત્ર ઉમેદવાર તરીકે ચૂંટાઈને ભારત અને ગુજરાતનું નામ વૈશ્વિક સ્તરે ગૌરવભેર ઉજાગર કરનાર તથા પોતાના દાદા અને પૂર્વજોના વતન ટંકારીઆ સાથે ગાઢ આત્મીય સંબંધ ધરાવતા બ્રિટિશ સંસદ સભ્ય (એમ.પી.) ઈકબાલહુસૈન મહંમદનો ભવ્ય સત્કાર સમારંભ ટંકારીઆ ગ્રામ પંચાયતના પટાંગણમાં ભારે હર્ષોલ્લાસ અને વતનપ્રેમના માહોલ વચ્ચે યોજાયો હતો.

પોતાના પૂર્વજોના વતનમાં પધારેલા આ લાડકવાયા સપૂતનું સ્વાગત કરવા પંચાયત પરિવાર સહિત ગ્રામજનોમાં ભારે ઉત્સાહ અને ઉમંગ જોવા મળ્યો હતો.

કાર્યક્રમની શરૂઆત હાફિઝ સફવાનભાઈ ભુતા દ્વારા પવિત્ર કુરઆનની તિલાવતથી કરવામાં આવી હતી. ટંકારીઆ ગામના સરપંચ શ્રી મંગાભાઈ દ્વારા ઈકબાલભાઈનું પુષ્પગુચ્છ અર્પણ કરી ઉષ્માભર્યું સ્વાગત કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.

ગામની વિવિધ શૈક્ષણિક સંસ્થાઓ દ્વારા ઈકબાલભાઈને શાલ ઓઢાડી સન્માનિત કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા. ત્યારબાદ ગામના ઉપસરપંચ શ્રી સફવાનભાઈ દ્વારા તેમને પ્રશસ્તિપત્ર અર્પણ કરી સન્માનિત કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા.

“ટંકારીઆ સાથે ઈકબાલહુસૈનનો સંબંધ માત્ર મૂળનો નહીં, પરંતુ લાગણીનો પણ છે”

આ પ્રસંગે ટંકારીઆના જાણીતા સામાજિક કાર્યકર તથા ‘ટંકારીઆ: ઇતિહાસની રોશનીમાં’ પુસ્તકના સંપાદક નાસીરહુસેન લોટીયાએ પોતાના પ્રવચનમાં ઈકબાલહુસૈનના પ્રેરણાદાયી વ્યક્તિત્વ અને તેમના ટંકારીઆ સાથેના ગાઢ સંબંધો પર વિસ્તૃત પ્રકાશ પાડ્યો હતો.

તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે ઈકબાલહુસૈન મહંમદના દાદા અને તેમના પૂર્વજો ટંકારીઆ ગામની કડુજી સ્ટ્રીટમાં રહેતા હતા, જે તે સમયે ‘ગોદર મહોલ્લા’ તરીકે ઓળખાતી હતી. તેમના દાદાની અટક ‘રૂપિયાવાલા’ હતી, પરંતુ બાદમાં તેઓ ‘કડુજી’ અટકથી ઓળખાતા થયા હતા.

વધુમાં તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે વ્યવસાયે એન્જિનિયર એવા ઈકબાલહુસૈન અને તેમના પરિવારનાં મૂળ ગુજરાતની માટી સાથે જોડાયેલા છે; ગુજરાતી સંસ્કૃતિ અને ગુજરાતી સંસ્કારો સાથે તેમનો ગાઢ સંબંધ છે. ઈકબાલભાઈના કુટુંબનાં મૂળ ટંકારીઆમાં છે એટલું જ નહીં, પરંતુ તેઓ ટંકારીઆ ગામના ભૂતપૂર્વ સરપંચ સ્વ. અહમદ સાહેબ ખોડા (DYSP)ના જમાઈ પણ છે. તેમના બહેનનાં લગ્ન પણ મૂળ ટંકારીઆના બશીરભાઈ હલાલત સાથે થયા છે.

આ રીતે ઈકબાલહુસૈન અને તેમનું સમગ્ર કુટુંબ ટંકારીઆ સાથે અનેક સ્તરે ગાઢ અને આત્મીય સંબંધો ધરાવે છે, જે સમગ્ર ટંકારીઆ ગામ માટે નિશ્ચિતપણે ગૌરવની વાત છે.

નાસીરહુસેને વધુમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે ઈકબાલહુસૈને બ્રિટિશ સંસદમાં આપેલી પોતાના ઐતિહાસિક Maiden Speechમાં પણ પોતાના પરિવારને ગૌરવભેર ‘Gujarati-Indian immigrant family’ તરીકે યાદ કર્યો હતો. વિદેશની ધરતી પર સફળતાના શિખરો સર કર્યા હોવા છતાં તેમણે પોતાના માતા-પિતા પાસેથી મળેલા ઉચ્ચ સંસ્કારો અને મૂલ્યોનું ગૌરવપૂર્વક સ્મરણ કર્યું હતું.

સમારંભમાં પોતાના પ્રવચનની શરૂઆત કરતાં જ ઈકબાલહુસૈન ભાવુક બની ગયા હતા. વતન પ્રત્યેની પોતાની ઊંડી લાગણી વ્યક્ત કરતાં તેમણે કહ્યું હતું:

“હું ટંકારીઆનો છું અને ટંકારીઆ મારું છે.”

તેમણે ગૌરવભેર વધુમાં જણાવ્યું હતું:

“હું યુ.કે.માં ચૂંટાયેલો પ્રથમ ભરૂચી વહોરા મેમ્બર ઑફ પાર્લામેન્ટ (સાંસદ) છું. તમે સૌ એવી દુઆ કરો કે મારા પછી પણ આપણા ભરૂચી વહોરા સમાજના યુવાનો આ જ રીતે આગળ આવે, પ્રગતિ કરે અને માનવસેવામાં પોતાનું યોગદાન આપે.”

પોતાના સંબોધનમાં તેમણે ‘ખિદમતે ખલ્ક’ એટલે કે માનવસેવા પર વિશેષ ભાર મૂક્યો હતો. તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે દરેક વ્યક્તિએ માનવતાના નાતે ઈમાનદારી, સચ્ચાઈ, ખંત અને ધૈર્ય સાથે લોકોની સેવા કરવાનો સતત પ્રયાસ કરવો જોઈએ.

વતનપ્રેમ અંગે વાત કરતાં તેમણે કહ્યું હતું કે, “આ ભારત દેશ આપણો છે અને વતન પ્રત્યે મોહબ્બત રાખવાનું તો આપણને ઇસ્લામે શીખવાડ્યું છે.”

ગામની સ્વચ્છતા અને યુવા પેઢીને પ્રેરણાદાયી સંદેશ

એમ.પી. ઈકબાલહુસૈને ટંકારીઆ ગામની સ્વચ્છતા પર પણ વિશેષ ભાર મૂક્યો હતો. ગ્રામજનોને અપીલ કરતાં તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે આપણે સૌએ મળીને આપણા ગામને હંમેશાં સ્વચ્છ અને સુંદર રાખવાનો પ્રયાસ કરવો જોઈએ.

તેમણે કહ્યું હતું કે, “આપણને એ વાતનો ફખ્ર (ગૌરવ) હોવો જોઈએ કે આપણું ગામ હંમેશાં સુંદર અને સ્વચ્છ રહે.”

યુવા પેઢીને સંદેશ આપતાં તેમણે જીવનમાં અથાગ મહેનત કરવા, સંઘર્ષથી ક્યારેય ન ડરવા, આત્મવિશ્વાસ જાળવી રાખવા તથા પોતાના મૂળ, સંસ્કારો અને મૂલ્યોને ક્યારેય ન ભૂલવાની હાકલ કરી હતી.

ટંકારીઆ ગ્રામ પંચાયત ખાતે યોજાયેલો આ સત્કાર સમારંભ વતન અને વતની વચ્ચેના અતૂટ સંબંધની એક ભાવસભર ઝલક બની રહ્યો હતો. ભલે વ્યક્તિ રોજગાર, શિક્ષણ કે સફળતાની શોધમાં વતનથી દૂર જાય, પરંતુ વતનનું હૈયું અને વતનની માટી સાથેનો સંબંધ ક્યારેય દૂર થતો નથી, તેનો સુંદર સંદેશ આ પ્રસંગે જોવા મળ્યો હતો.

સમગ્ર કાર્યક્રમ વતનપ્રેમ, ગૌરવ, આત્મીયતા અને આનંદના માહોલમાં સંપન્ન થયો હતો.

Grand Felicitation Ceremony Held for Tankaria’s Son and UK MP Iqbal Hussain Mohamed

A grand felicitation ceremony was held at the premises of Tankaria Gram Panchayat to honour Hon. Iqbal Hussain Mohamed, a Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom, who was elected as an Independent candidate and has brought recognition to India and Gujarat on the global stage. The event was held in an atmosphere of immense joy, pride and affection, reflecting his deep emotional connection with Tankaria, the ancestral village of his forefathers.

The arrival of the village’s beloved son to his ancestral homeland generated great excitement and enthusiasm among the villagers, members of the Gram Panchayat and representatives of various local organisations.

The programme commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Safwanbhai Bhuta. All the distinguished guests were then warmly welcomed with floral bouquets. Sarpanch Shri Mangabhai presented a bouquet to Iqbalbhai and extended a warm welcome to him on behalf of the village.

Various educational institutions of Tankaria honoured Iqbalbhai by presenting him with traditional shawls. Subsequently, Deputy Sarpanch Shri Safwanbhai presented him with a citation in recognition of his achievements and his connection with the community.

“Iqbal Hussain’s relationship with Tankaria is not merely ancestral, but deeply emotional”

Speaking on the occasion, well-known Tankaria social worker and editor of the book Tankaria: In the Light of History, Nasirhussain Lotia, spoke at length about Iqbal Hussain’s inspiring personality and his deep-rooted connection with Tankaria.

He explained that Iqbal Hussain Mohamed’s grandfather and ancestors lived in Kaduji Street in Tankaria, which was known at the time as Godar Mohalla. His grandfather’s family name was Rupiyawala, although the family later became known by the surname Kaduji.

He further highlighted that Iqbal Hussain, an engineer by profession, and his family have deep roots in the soil of Gujarat and maintain a strong connection with Gujarati culture, traditions and values.

Not only does Iqbalbhai’s family originate from Tankaria, but he is also the son-in-law of the late Ahmed Saheb Khoda (DYSP), who served as a former Sarpanch of Tankaria. His sister is also married to Bashirbhai Halalat, whose family has roots in Tankaria.

Thus, Iqbal Hussain and his family share deep and multifaceted connections with Tankaria, which is undoubtedly a matter of great pride for the entire village.

Nasirhussain further noted that in his historic Maiden Speech in the British Parliament, Iqbal Hussain proudly referred to his family as a “Gujarati-Indian immigrant family.” Despite achieving success and reaching significant heights in his professional and public life overseas, he has continued to proudly acknowledge the values, principles and upbringing instilled in him by his parents.

At the ceremony, Iqbal Hussain became visibly emotional as he began his address. Expressing his deep affection for his ancestral homeland, he said:

«“I am from Tankaria, and Tankaria is mine.”»

He proudly added:

«“I am the first Bharuchi Bohra Member of Parliament elected in the UK. I pray that, after me, many more young people from our Bharuchi Bohra community will come forward, progress in life and contribute to the service of humanity.”»

In his address, he placed particular emphasis on “Khidmat-e-Khalq” — service to humanity. He said that every individual should continuously strive to serve others with honesty, sincerity, dedication and patience, recognising the responsibility we have towards humanity.

Speaking about love for one’s homeland, he said:

«“This country, India, is ours, and Islam has taught us to love our homeland.”»

Message on Village Cleanliness and Inspiration for the Younger Generation

MP Iqbal Hussain also placed special emphasis on maintaining the cleanliness of Tankaria village. Appealing to the villagers, he urged everyone to work together to keep the village clean, beautiful and well-maintained.

He said:

«“We should take pride in ensuring that our village always remains beautiful and clean.”»

Addressing the younger generation, he encouraged them to work hard, never be afraid of challenges, maintain self-confidence and, above all, never forget their roots, upbringing, traditions and values.

The felicitation ceremony at Tankaria Gram Panchayat became a deeply emotional reflection of the enduring bond between a person and his homeland. The occasion beautifully demonstrated that although people may travel far from their birthplace in search of education, employment or opportunities for success, their emotional connection with their homeland and the soil of their ancestors never truly fades.

The entire programme concluded in an atmosphere filled with love for the homeland, pride, warmth, affection and joy, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
