TANKARIA WEATHER
The photo below shows the Late Ismail Mohmed Alli Nagia (with black cap on) who went to Cape Town, South Africa. Tankaria based Ismail Master Ahmed Vali Mohmed Nagia is the Late Ismail Mohmed’s cousin’s grandson. According to Ismail Sahib, the Late Ismail Mohmed went to South Africa before his birth, but he heard about him from his grandfather.

Assalaamu Alaikum,
My name is Hilmi Sharki Nagia, the son of Musa Ebrahim Nagia.
My grandfather was from Tankaria and moved to South Africa in the late 1800s with three of his brothers.
Today, we are three brothers in Worcester (near Cape Town), South Africa:

From left to right: Hilmi Nagia (me, eldest brother), Sadri Nagia (youngest brother) and Enver Nagia (middle brother).
We would appreciate it if this could be posted on the MyTankaria website so that we could possibly make contact with more of the Nagia family.
Kind regards,
Today, we would like you to meet Haji Mohammed Yusuf Zangaria Munshi, a very well known and respected personality in our community in Lusaka, Zambia.
Haji Mohammed Zangaria Munshi is the son of Janaab Yusuf Zangaria Munshi, who was the principal of Tankaria Primary School. He is 85 years old, but his energy and will power is like that of a young man. He is, Alhamdulillah, an extremely successful business man. His ventures include factories called Shafiq Textiles and Chico Biscuits.
But that does not define Haji Mohammed Zangaria Munshi. What defines him is his strong will power and energy that can put a person half his age under his shadow. He takes active roles in many different community organisations and is very supportive of projects put forward for our community and our village. In fact, he helped drive our community to donate over a quarter of the contribution for Tankaria High School’s new building project and our school management credited him with a special honour.
Such a great personality, but interestingly age hasn’t beaten his will power. He still drives, goes hunting and visits the game park. Tankaria is blessed to have a son like him. Even though he is very far from his birthplace, Haji Mohammed Zangaria Munshi is very attached to his homeland and continues to give back to his community. May Allah (SWT) reward him and his family with the best of this world and in the hereafter.

Over the last couple of months, there has been shock and fear in the community about swine flu (H1N1), as it’s spreading widely day by day and over a thousand people have died. I want to share some helpful information to fight this flu and remain healthy.
As there is no drug available to cure flu, the best way is to prevent infection. Allah made our amazing human body and blessed it with even more amazing natural powers of preventing and fighting infection. And it is true, “prevention is better than cure”.
My advice is to keep your natural immunity high, so that even when infected, your body can react effectively. So how can you do it?
1. Eat protein rich food, like legumes (mung, dal, chana).
2. Eat vitamin “C” rich food (lemon, orange) or take T. Lymcee once daily.
3. Take vitamin “E” supplement (T. Evion 400).
4. Wash your hands before meals with antiseptic soap.
5. Avoid going into crowded areas, especially during this epidemic.
6. Cover your nose and mouth with a handkerchief when you sneeze.
7. Have 7 to 8 hours of continuous sleep daily.
8. Stay calm, relaxed and happy.
9. If you have a high fever, cough, sneezing, body aches, loss of appetite or breathing difficulties, contact your nearest health care centre immediately.
I hope this information will be beneficial for our community to remain healthy and fight against flu.
