It is good to see that grandson of Tankaria, brother Imtiyaz Amin (right in black coat), has filed his candidacy on behalf of the Conservative Party in the Batley constituency for the upcoming United Kingdom elections. Participation and presentation in local and national politics is a very healthy sign of democracy. We hope candidates debate on local and national issues. Wish them all good luck.

Two recent achievements by teens of our community are worthy of being noticed and celebrated. One in the education field and the other in sport. Faiz Khan, son of famous Dr Khan of Bharuch, was part of a university team who designed a 350gm drone (the future of aviation, logistics amd security) which carries up to 1kg of weight and is controlled remotely. Not just that, they were given an opportunity to showcase their work in Florida, USA. The country that invented the drone was all over this design and technology and awarded it first prize amongst contestants from 93 countries!

The other success story is of Adil Shaikh, also from Bharuch, who has been invited and selected to play for the Indian Premier League (IPL) team. Rajashthan Royals. The IPL is one of the world’s biggest sporting gathering and attracts international cricketers from all over the world. Its an adrenaline filled and highly competitive tournament whose audience count is more than half a billion per game!

We are very proud to have teens progressing at such a high stage and hope as well as pray that our community continues to nurture and provide a platform to talents like Faiz and Adil. We congratulate their parents, teachers, communities and all those who guided them along the way.

Today, we would like you to meet Haji Mohammed Yusuf Zangaria Munshi, a very well known and respected personality in our community in Lusaka, Zambia.

Haji Mohammed Zangaria Munshi is the son of Janaab Yusuf Zangaria Munshi, who was the principal of Tankaria Primary School. He is 85 years old, but his energy and will power is like that of a young man. He is, Alhamdulillah, an extremely successful business man. His ventures include factories called Shafiq Textiles and Chico Biscuits.

But that does not define Haji Mohammed Zangaria Munshi. What defines him is his strong will power and energy that can put a person half his age under his shadow. He takes active roles in many different community organisations and is very supportive of projects put forward for our community and our village. In fact, he helped drive our community to donate over a quarter of the contribution for Tankaria High School’s new building project and our school management credited him with a special honour.

Such a great personality, but interestingly age hasn’t beaten his will power. He still drives, goes hunting and visits the game park. Tankaria is blessed to have a son like him. Even though he is very far from his birthplace, Haji Mohammed Zangaria Munshi is very attached to his homeland and continues to give back to his community. May Allah (SWT) reward him and his family with the best of this world and in the hereafter.

US to provide work permits to spouses of US H1-B visa holders. It is tremendously helpful to those who are with their H1-B visa holder spouses but are unable to work even though they may have qualifications or degrees. This results in many talented spouses staying at home while their spouses are at work in the USA. The change in law will benefit many.
