Zabin Patel, daughter of Salim Patel (Chicago) got married to Nabeel Syed in a beautiful ceremony held in Chicago.  Many Tankarvis from different states and Canada also attended the program. Navid (son of Munaf Patel- nephew of Ali Tichuk) met with Bruce Rauner, Governor of Illinois one of the largest state of USA, as part of Apprentice Week. Javid has been selected for Accenture Apprentice program that not only pays him to learn how die manufacturing and industry processes work but also employs him full time while in full time school. Governor Rainer met with some of these bright and talented youth to applaud their hard work and to highlight program success. We, on behalf of MyTankaria visitors would like to congratulate Navid.

Zakat Distribution Committee of Makki Academy hosted community luncheon for refugees brothers and sisters. The aim was to meet, feed, provide clothing to the refugees family and give them the feel of family. These brothers, sisters and little kids have been thru so much. They had to flee their country of love to save their lives and families. The program allowed the locals to meet with refugee families from across the Chicagoland area and vice-versa. Many thanks to all the volunteers and organizers.

One of our Tankarvi Brother Salim Banglawala is setting up a great example by intending to run Virgin London half marathon (13.1 miles=21 km) in 2018. Salim wants to raise awareness for breast cancer thru his run. Running marathon takes months and months of preparation, strict discipline and overcoming huge psychological barrier. It really brings the best out of the participant. We will be providing you with periodical update on Salim’s progress.

Salim has set up just giving page for donation. This money will go toward research, cure and raising awareness about breast cancer.We encourage all to follow and donate (if you can) toward Salim’s noble effort about raising awareness for breast cancer within our society

This week a team of at least 15 people (including our Tankaria Brother Iqbalbhai Dhoriwala) from Batley, Dewsbury and nearby town travelled to Palestine with a noble intent to supply food and sports supply to local Palestinian people. As we all know that years of hardships have left this community with lacking supply chain of essential life supporting items such as food and medicines. This team of 15 from ENGLAND travelled in Palestine local community door to door to distribute food. They also provided kids with cricket gears.

We salute these individuals for their efforts and dedication. May Allah SWT reward them with the best of both worlds.

Professor Alimuddin Zumla of United Kingdom has been awarded with the “Knighthood” the highest honor in British Kingdom. Sir Professor Alimuddin Zumla has countless contributions in medicine and education field. His achievement will serve as an example and inspiration to our youth.
