Makki Education Academy (MEA) in Chicago, USA which opened its door to students just few years back, is on to a great path. The institute is aiming to provide high quality education to students of diverse population in an Islamic setting and bring upon new programs and initiatives to nurture their talents. Last week on Sunday, MEA held annual “Spelling Bee” competition to help develop students vocabulary as well as prepare them for competitive exams. Students were encouraged with awards for participation. Many thanks to MEA for holding such events and we pray for their continued success.

Who doesn’t know Aziz Tankarvi… pride of Tankaria and a well-known name in Gujarati literature. His writings has captivated readers for years and earned huge respect amongst Gujarati writers and poets, has come up with a new book… “VANTORIO – CYCLONE”.

A book Launch ceremony of Aziz Tankarvi’s new boom was held at Premanand Sahitya Sabha Hall, Baroda in presence of honourable dignitaries, intellectuals and writers. This book reflects upon post and pre-independence era of India’s social, political and cultural framework. It is a must read for those who wants to learn about India’s social, political and cultural reality.

Our Tankarvi brother Azaz Dahya recently visited Zambia where he met many Tankarvi friends. He would like to thank all the brothers for their hospitality and also want to share with us some memories from his trip.

Haji Musa Ghogha, Father of Ayyub and Shoaib Ghogha passed away on Sun, 1/19 in Chicago, USA.
Inna Lillahe Wainna Ilyahe Rajeun. May Allah SWT have mercy on his soul and grant him a place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus.
Funeral info: Salat ul Janaza will be held on Monday, 01/20/2020 at Madina Masjid, 4850 N St. Louise, Chicago, IL @1:15PM (following Zuhr Prayer). Burial will take place at Rosehill Cemetery on Peterson Ave. in Chicago.

Sitting arrangements will be at 5524 N Sawyer Ave. in Chicago. In India, sitting arrangement will be at Altaf Morli House.

Wedding ceremony of Naufal Munaf Patel of Chicago (Alibhai and Ibrahim bhai Tichuk’s grand nephew) with Ruhena (daughter of Nazeer Ahmed Patel of Karachi, Pakistan was held in Karachi today. Members of Kapadia and Ghodiwala family from different continents attended this great event. On behalf of My Tankaria, many congratulation to newly wed couple.

Our NRI brothers & sisters who are living acorss different continents of the world have one thing in common which is The LOVE for the motherland, LOVE for the community and the WILLINGNESS to do whatever it takes to improve and benefit our community. We, Tankarvis are grateful for their contributions and their efforts for the village and community.

Tankaria Sports Club recently honored NRI brothers who helped with upgrades and modernization of sports facilities available for the community. As seen below, Brother Irfan Tailor and Sajid bhai of Vohra Samni were given letter of appreciation by Abdul bhai Kamthi on behalf of Tankaria Sports Club.

Vohra Voice UK (VVUK- a non-profit organization by our Vohra brothers in UK), an organization which is formed with the intent to bring Vohra community from across the Globe on to one platform and bring awareness as well as work toward the solution for many social issues that we currently face. Organization is aiming to bring core projects in near future that can immensely help our community. Part of this effort has brought our community with “Vohra Matrimonial UK”.

For parents, one of their biggest worry is that their child finds right partner and with whom their child can spend rest of his/her life in best possible way. VVUK is taking a step in this area by providing a matrimonial platform where thorough process and wetting allows both parties to safely communicate and find right life partner. The service which was launched last week will be provided to all Vohra community in UK free of charge.

Many Thanks to the VVUK team and all who are involved in this noble effort. We hope that our community benefits from this and we can have many more projects in the coming future.

Hajiyani Bibiben Mohammed Ghoga (Grandmother of Aiyub Ghogha) passed away in Chicago.
