Another Achievement By Tankaria:
After scoring high in sport as Salim Veragi played in Ranji Trophy for
Baroda U21, its time for educational achievement from Tankaria.
Tankaria High School has been selected as the 'Best Minority High
School in Gujarat State'. This is an extraordinary achievement.
Congratulation to Tankaria High School staff & management.

election, 5 candidates have voluntarily withdrawn. Remaining 5
candidates are as follows.

In member's election, 6 candidates remain out of 22 for 2 wards thus
election is required only for Ward-17 & 21.

1. Death of Bibiben Adam Popat:
Bibiben Adam Popat, mother of Yakub Popat (Advocate), passed away
on Thursday, Jan 3rd 2008. Namaz-e-Janaza was held after Isha Namaz
on the same day. May Allah Almighty grant her Jannatul Firdaus.
2. Sarpanch Election:
The date of Gaam Panchayat election has been declared. Election will
be held on 20th January 2008.

1. Hajj:
This is the month of Hajj and our Muslim brothers and sisters are travelling
from all around the world to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina for the
pilgrimage. MyTankaria team wishes all Hajjis best of health and journey
and asks to remember in their valuable Duas. If anytime, knowingly or
unknowingly we made any comments, words or mistakes which might
have hurt you, we heartily ask for forgiveness.
We started this website with the intention to have a common platform for
all of us, for all Tankarvis; where we meet old friends & make some new,
share our experiences & lives, help others & be connected to our native
land wherever in the world we are. We have succeeded in our motive upto
certain extent. But, we have a lot to do. There are lot of areas needs
massive improvements and it is all possible with your precious Duas for
the success of our website, our very own website of our village. Please
make Dua for the success of our website.

2. Harsh Weather in Chicago, USA:
Winter has really started to show its mood in USA. Saturday, 1st of
December was the first snow of the season. Snow fall started with the
chilly wind storm and lasted overnight. In the morning snow was more than
6 inches here in Chicago, USA.
Yesterday, 4th of December, snowing started again at 4 in the afternoon
and lasted overnight totalling than 6 inches in 12 hours. Temperature is
below 0 (-8 to -6 C) and roads are slippery and cars are prone to slid off

1. Salim Veragi (Patel) as Ranji Player.
Salim Patel (Veragi) has been selected as U22 player for Baroda Cricket
Association. He played for Baroda U22 and performed well by picking up
22 wickets as fast bowler. He has been contracted for one year by
Baroda Cricket Association (BCA).
He would have been selected for Baroda Ranji Team (competes as
national level and players are selected from among them) if Irfan Pathan
had been selected for India-Pakistan test series. However, he will be
stand by for BCA Ranji Team and might join if they need him.

May Allah Almighty reward him success at higher level competition and
play at International level for many years to come.
2. Another Cricket Tournament in Tankaria:
Another Big Cricket Tournament is going to start from today 24th of
November 2007, at Bariwala Cricket Ground, Tankaria on Ghodi Road.
Tournament is being organised by Mr. Abdul Razzak Bariwala. Anyone
who wants to take part in this tournament please contact Mr. Munaf Diwari
Or Saeed Bariwala.

1. Wedding of Sajid Talati (Lariya) and Shahina Bha.
Sajid Talati (Lariya), son of Haji Ibrahim and Amina Talati got married to
Shahina Bha, daughter of Haji Abdullah and Zubeda Bha on 4th of
November, 2007 at Tankaria. Reception & Nikah was held on 4th
November followed by Valima on 5th November. Congratulations and
best wishes to new couple from MyTankaria and all Tankarvis around the
world.

1. Education Minister of Gujarat State Visits Tankaria High School:
Education minister Anandiben Patel visited Tankaria High School which
is a proud moment for the Tankaria village. Tankaria High school is only
one high school of the nearby villages which serves the need of higher
secondary education of students from around the villages like Kamboli,
Vatarsa, Simariya, Parkhet, Adol, Kishnar, Padariya, Paguthan and
others.
Congrats to management and village of Tankaria.

Huriben Saleh, the mother of Saeed, Latif & Nazir Saleh past away on
Saturday, 22nd of September at the age of 65.
Namaz-e-Janazah was held after Zuhr salah.
