Date: 3rd July, 2008:

It looks like high temperature & humidity has brought an early monsoon in
Tankaria. People are happy as it brought down the temperature little bit &
farmers are feeling good monsoon season ahead.

As the poet in Gujarati literature say " I LOVE THE SMELL OF THE WET SOIL
AFTER THE FIRST RAIN OF THE SEASON". Look at the picture & remember
those days.

LOCAL WEATHER:  Temperature will mostly be in mid 20s. Cloud cover for the
next three days & chances of rain next week.

Musabhai Batli (father of Gulam Saheb Batli) passed away today in Tankaria.
Namaz-e-Janazah was held in morning at 10am. May Allah Almighty rest him in
peace & grant him a place in Jannatul Firdaus.

Date: 18th June, 2008:

1. Gyarvhi Sharif program is being organized by the Madrasah committee today
at Mota Padar. People of Tankaria & nearby villages have been invited to attend
the celebrations.

2. Now-a-days, the temperature in Tankaria & surrounding area goes well above
35C (100F) during daytime & 26C during nighttime. It is really hot & it is affecting
normal daily life of Tankarvis.

3. Results of HSC board examination (science stream) & GUJTEC was
announced on Thursday, 16th May, 2008.
Students of Tankaria performed really well in board exam. Among them, Anisha
Maqbul Delawala got 71%, son of Ilyas Degmaster got 73% and daughter of
Faruq Kari received 65%.

Date: 14th May, 2008:

Muzaffar Yakubbhai Devram, age16, past away today. He was suffering from
blood cancer. Namaz-e-janaza was held at Bhad Bhag cemeteryafter Zuhur
namaz. May Allah Almighty rest him in peace & grant him a place in Jannatul
Firdaus. May Allah Almighty give courage to his family to get through this difficult
time. Ameen.

Date: 21st April, 2008:
1. League Cricket Season starts in Midwest, USA:

America is not a country where you expect to hear the word "cricket."   But, you
would be surprised to see the number of teams playing & competing for the
trophy. Teams from midwestern states of USA (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio &
Wisconsin) will compete in the midwestern league starting in the 1st week of
May. There are three divisions: Division 1 (higher level) , Division 2 (medium
level) and Division 3 (lower level & new teams).  Many youth from our community
take part in this prestigious league.  Our major teams include Chicago AAA
(champion Division-1, 2006), Chicago Fire, Chicago Lucky, and Chicago Rogers

Yesterday, a friendly match was played between Chicago AAA & Chicago Fire at
Washington Park (proposed 2016 Olympic venue). Chicago AAA made 245/9
(35 overs). Chicago Fire responded well initially, but then crumbled to145/9 (35
overs) and lost the game.

2.  Gazi-e-millat, Hazrat Allama Mohmmed Hashmimiya Kichhochhvi, beloved son
of Muhaddis-e-Azam-e-hind (R.A.) visited Tankaria for a day.

Date: 19th April, 2008:
Children Garden at Mota Padar Cricket Ground, Tankaria:

The new sarpanch has brought with him lot of changes. Before even taking the
role of the sarpanch, Mr Arif Patel  & his team  completed the repair works on
Nana Padar Mineral Water Plant making sure that the people of Nana Padar get
clean & healthy water.

Now, he has taken another big step.  He is making playing fields of Tankaria
more friendlier for children.  He has put swings & other play activities for kids at
Mota Padar Cricket Field. Moda Padar playing field has always been used as a
cricket ground.  But, with  little improvement, it will be more like an evening
get-away for father & son.

Eid-e-Milad Nabi (S.A.W.) Programme in Chicago:

Eid-e-Milad Nabi (S.A.W.) programme was held yesterday after Asr namaz at w.
Balmoral mosque in Chicago, USA. The programme started at 6PM and
continued after Isha namaz. Around 100 people attended this spiritual function.

Date: 23rd March, 2008:
Mr. Babusaheb Bhutawala as Vice- Sarpanch:

1. Mr. Arif Patel & his team was handed over an official charge of the office on
1st March. According to the Indian law, he chooses his deputy. After a
successful discussion with his ward members & support from villagers, Mr.
Babusaheb Bhutawala has been selected as vice-Sarpanch of Tankaria village.

Congratulation to Babusaheb from MyTankaria on behalf of all his visitors
around the world.

2. In other news from Tankaria, Tankarvis has seen continuous upward trend in
temperature since last couple of weeks. Temperature is well above 35C (100F).
As a precautionary purpose, the school schedule has been changed from
afternoon to morning. From monday, March 23rd primary schools (1st to 7th
grade) will open from 7:30 to 11:30am Monday to Saturday.

3. From Chicago:

Mr. Ibrahim Karmadwala past away last week in Chicago, USA. He was well
known among our community in Chicago. May Allah Almighty rest him in peace &
grant him a place in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

Repair works completed on water filtration plant in Nana Padar:

Tankaria has two water filtration plants; one in Mota Padar & the second one in
Nana Padar. Since past few months, Nana Padar water filtration plant was not
working properly and had to shut down. But, with effort of our village leaders and
support from our community, the water treatment has been restored.

The approximate cost for the repair was IND Rs. 150,000. Furthermore,  Zanor
pipe line, a continuous supply of fresh water to our village, has also been taken
into this process so water will be processed before it reaches to citizens of

2008. He was about 50 years old.

1.  Abdullah Ahmed Rethda (uncle of one of our administrator Soyeb Rethada)
past away yesterday evening at 6 pm on 12th Feb 2008. He was about 82 years

2. Other news from village: Gov. of Gujarat, Ministry of Energy has approved a
gas pipeline for Tankaria & other 16 nearby villages. It means cheaper gas at
Thanks to our government & congratulations to Tankarvis. The gas pipeline will
make their lives much easier.

3.  In other news,  Saeed Bariwala's team lost against Zakir Umta's team at BCG
(Bariwala Cricket Ground). However, Saeed is in good form and with continuous
good performances with Bat, he received 'Man of the Series' award at Ikhar
village cricket tournament.

Death of Aminaben Adam Khandu:
Aminaben Adam Khandu, grand mother of Khandu Hafezi, past away today on
4th Feb-08. She was about 105 years old.Namaz-e-janaza was held after
Namaz-e-Asar. May Allah Almighty grant her a  place in Jannatul firdaus.
